A light box for the Aussie backyard.
This playful structure has a lot of fun packed into a small area. Its position lightens a rather ordinary backyard, into an extra-ordinary cubby house. It may be more on the tiny house scale, lifted off the ground by a classic interesting ply base, framed into the garden with day-round sunlight.
Made of Australian hardwoods, emphasized by the white walls, we consciously exposed the structure to retain the notion of a [small] home, Somewhat subtle details of the protruding ridge beam, pitched rafters and open wall frames reinforce the notion of security while rolling the roof iron and omitting gutters for a smidge of overhang to retain a playful setting.
